Travel Journal: New York, Day Eight (Final Day!)

Our last day in New York was spent sleeping in and doing some last-minute packing. I had done most of my packing the night before so while J was struggling to fit all his NY purchases in his bags, I ran across the road to Sweet Revenge for a cupcake hit.

Sweet Revenge is another cafe which came highly recommended to us by our AirBnB host. I had already checked out the website and was ooh-ing over the wine and cupcake pairings they offered. Unfortunately, I felt it might be a bit too much having wine before noon so I settled instead for just a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting which was totally yum.

After we were done packing, we had brunch at the Market Table which is also located just across the road from us. Their basil poached chicken salad with sweet corn totally hit the spot for me while J settled on their watermelon gazpacho with peeky toe crab.

I also had a Prosecco with my meal. I could definitely get used to lazy Saturday NY brunches with a little before-noon alcohol!

We then went over to Times Square to stock up on some chocolates at the M&M and Hershey’s stores.

It was a particularly hot and humid day and as we had a spare hour or so before we needed to head back to the apartment, we stopped off at The Garage for a final drink in New York.

Before we knew it, it was time to grab our bags and head to the airport – goodbye, New York, we’ll be back soon – next stop, Norway!
