Fitness Goals 2015

Lorna Jane Diary

How gorgeous are the new Lorna Jane diaries for 2015? They’re a bit too big to carry around easily in my bag as I did my 2014 diary, but I couldn’t resist picking up a copy for myself (as well as a copy for a friend of mine as a Christmas gift). I love the gorgeous soft pale blue covers and the motivational pages inside, plus recipes, workout plans and so much more! They make me super excited for 2015 🙂

Lorna Jane, Diary, 2015

What are your New Year resolutions for fitness in 2015? Looking back at 2014, keeping a workout diary (and especially one that I publish online every week!) really worked well in terms of keeping myself accountable and making sure I do some form of workout a few times a week at least. Another big motivator were having goals to work to – running a half-marathon distance and finishing the Kayla Itsines 12 Week BBG program! It was also the year I took swimming classes and learned to swim – well, kind of – or at least get more comfortable in the water!

All in all, I’m really happy with 2014, fitness-wise. I felt as if I’ve managed to sustain a healthy, active lifestyle and really made exercise a part of my everyday life. Now if I don’t workout at least a few times a week, I feel sluggish and not at all like myself. I feel so much more healthier and stronger and I’ve definitely noticed the change in my body!

Now for 2015, I’ve got some new fitness goals I plan to work towards. For instance, I’d like to really run a half-marathon race this year. So I’m going to make the 2015 City to Surf half-marathon race in August my goal.

I also want to try doing more yoga, Pilates or some other form of stretching class like Body Balance in the new year. I always hear so much about how good these classes are for making you lean and toned and especially for getting a stronger core. But I’m also impatient when it comes to ‘slow’ classes like these and I never last long with them so this year I plan to make sure I do some form of yoga or Body Balance at least once a week for a few months and see what benefit I get from it!

I also want to try incorporating more weights in my workout this year. I never liked working with weights and though Body Pump is fun, it’s also the one Les Mills class I don’t look forward to as much as the others! I have Kayla Itsines’ BBG to thank for, however, for making me really enjoy working with weights and appreciating how much of a difference weights can make when it comes to workouts that really sculpt your body! I can even say right now that I kind of miss working out with weights!

So these are my fitness goals for 2015 and I can’t wait to see what I get out of pursuing these goals. 2015 is promising to turn out to be a fun and exciting year! What fitness goals have you got for the new year?
