April Science Read: The Sea Around Us

Rachel Carson, The Sea Around Us, ocean, science, female scientist, April, marine, biology

I’m very excited about April’s science read! It’s none other than Rachel Carson’s The Sea Around Us. I’ve heard so many good things about this book, I can’t wait to read it. And how beautiful is the cover? I think seahorses are one of the most intriguing creatures in the sea amongst all the other fascinating underwater creatures. There’s so much to learn about the deeps!

Having established a foundation in January’s science read and learned about time and the universe in February and March, I’m ready to go back to where life started on Earth – namely, the oceans. Rachel Carson’s The Sea Around Us promises to do just that, delving into the primeval beginnings of our oceans, the mysteries of our deeps and human’s relationship with the territory that covers 70% of our planet. I have a feeling April is going to be a good read.
